Safety & AI Disclaimers

Supplemental tools. Human command. DTW helps organize information and support training. It does not dispatch emergency help, monitor emergencies, guarantee accountability, or make operational decisions. For an emergency, use your established emergency communications system.

Operational use

Qualified personnel must independently verify unit locations, assignments, staffing, PAR, search status, benchmarks, timers, and all other displayed information. A tile or completed checkbox is not confirmation that a person is safe, an assignment was received, or a task was performed. Follow your incident command system, agency policies, SOPs/SOGs, radio procedures, and applicable standards. DTW does not replace those requirements or certify compliance with NFPA, OSHA, NIMS, or any other standard.

Training and scenario effects

Scenario images, simulated fire and smoke, masks, timing, dispatch sequences, and results are illustrative teaching aids. They are not validated fire-dynamics models, structural assessments, forecasts, or tactical recommendations. They do not establish safe entry, tenability, collapse risk, or an appropriate operational response. Instructors must review content for suitability, clearly identify exercises as training, supervise participants, and provide separate safety controls for any practical activity. Participation or a favorable result is not certification or proof of competency.

AI and speech recognition

AI may mishear radio traffic, confuse units or locations, omit critical details, invent information, or produce incorrect interpretations. Noise, accents, clipped transmissions, delays, and overlapping speakers can increase errors. Confidence scores do not guarantee accuracy. Review transcripts, suggested changes, and applied results against the original communication and actual conditions. Do not rely on AI as the sole basis for a tactical action or personnel-safety decision. You remain responsible for corrections and for every action taken.

Use audio features only with agency authorization and legally required recording and transmission consent. Avoid patient identifiers and sensitive operational information. See the Privacy Notice for microphone, transcription, and third-party processing details.

Connectivity, offline operation, and backups

Devices can lose power; browsers can suspend, close, or clear storage; networks and third-party services can fail. Displays may be stale, incomplete, delayed, or unsynchronized. Offline support does not guarantee that all features work without a connection or that data will later synchronize. Maintain established radio, accountability, documentation, and backup procedures that remain usable when DTW is unavailable. Test devices and configurations before use.

Records, access, and third-party content

Exports, logs, snapshots, AI transcripts, and training results may contain errors or gaps. Verify them before using them as official records or in evaluations, investigations, or legal proceedings. Protect shared links, room codes, accounts, and devices. Obtain permission for photos, maps, recordings, and personal information. Third-party names, department references, or supplied illustrations do not imply endorsement, affiliation, or an independent safety assessment.
